Topic: Revelation and PV 112's |

I am planning to use a Sarno Revelation with PV 112's as my powered amps. Has anyone had negative results with this set up. I've heard that it works pretty well. I haven't played any really big jobs that the 112's didn't cover. It seems most bands mic everything anyway. Thanks for your thoughts.

Ray, thanks for your reply. That was what I was wanting to hear. I have heard good reports but I just need the little extra confirmation that I;m doing right and not blowing a lot of money. Thanks again  .

I used this setup for a while. If you like the NV112 by itself, the Revelation is a good addition. Power wise, I rarely maxed it out. 160 watts is a lot of power.
I ended up adding a rackmount power amp and speaker cabs to the rig, mostly to use different speakers. |

| I used the RTP with two NV112s and it worked great. Later I decided to try a TC Furlong CB12 Split. For volume you'd rarely ever 'need' more than one of those so it eliminates the 'need' to carry two amps. However, I still often take the CB12 and the NV112 I kept just for a stereo-like effect. For me one advantage of using the two NV112s was that it was a quieter rig. I prefer the sound of the CB12 cab as opposed to the NV112s used as powered cabs, but if cranked up at all the CB12 has an annoying buzz that I've never gotten rid of. Even nearly wide open the NV12s are near silent in terms of hum or buzz. Just a few thoughts on my experiences. |

There is a couple of small adjustments on the back of the amp on the green plate. One is volume, the other is tone. You can use your fingernail or a small slot screw driver to turn down the volume. I didn't know that for quite a while and I could hear some hum coming from the amp. With it turned down a little mine is dead quiet. I also took off just a little bit of the treble side which gave the amp a sweeter tone.
