I'm redoing a 73 Professional, turned S/D, and would love to see any pictures of vertical levers put on Shobuds with old teardrop levers. Anyone put one on an old Lloyd Green rack and barrel? Thank You. Ron _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Are you putting the vertical on using a stock rack, or are you using a cross shaft with pullers?
Either way, your probably gonna have to put the rack , or cross shaft for the vertical, somewhere in the middle of the undercarriage, and run a linkage. On most other/newer steels, you will see the shaft and pullers for the vertical between the A pedal and the endplate. You won't have room under there for that.
I'd be glad to help you, but I don't have a vertical on my '73 Professional SD-10. It's a 4 & 4. I know there's a few out here that have R & B's with a vertical on 'em for you to see. |

Well there are no Lloyd Green "Rack" and Barrel. First LDG's were Barrel tuning; but behind two-hole pullers on crossbars. I have a ton of pics of verticals on Sho~Bud's; but NONE of one on a Rack and Barrel.
Here's a few with a quick look on my Computer>

Ricky,
On the first pic. I don't see how the reverse is happening . Can you zoom or explain?
Todd, I have the extra stock, R/B ready to be mounted. Just not sure where yet. I had it Jerry rigged before I took it apart, with the unit pushing the rack back with a rigid rod. It worked fine, just kind of ugly and not Shobud. Also, concerned I'll be able to fold the lever back enough to fit in the case OK. _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |

Ricky, Got ya. Thanks. That also helps drop the lever down to a more useable hieght, as long as it is not very visable from the front. RP _________________ Emmons SKH Le Grande, '73 Fender P/J bass, Tick tack bass, Regal high strung, USA Nashville 112. |
