I haven't been on in awhile but here goes. I have a SHO-BUD L6139 which was built late 76, early 77. 3 pedals, knee bar, 10 string. I have a situation which the knee bar only drops eighth string half tone. The second does not drop 1/2 tone. Can anyone give advice on correcting this? I'm fairly new but am lookin for someone close to Enid, OK. to give me some lessons. I play by ear and I can still see pretty good. I play classic country but I would like to play the steel more. Last time was at 16-17, now at 60 want to learn more. I play rhythm in band but a steel player makes the unique sound. I'm askin for some help. I am retired. Got time on my hands. Are all the parts in place? Did it used to work? it is far more likely to just need adjustment rather than having broken parts, assuming all the parts are there.

I thought a 6139 was an all-pull guitar

What I have is the SHO-BUD Maverick pedal Steel, so-called Vintage. Someone had one just like mine and sold it. mine has the body covered with a brown wood grain material. It's a 3 pedal 1 knee bar. I'm pretty sure all parts are there. Friend of mine told me this mornin that the man who had originally, had the #2 string where it didn't drop the 1/2 tone w/ knee bar, just the 8th. go figger. I'm just wantin to get it back original. As far as I know all parts are there. If you want to look further go to SHO-BUD pedal steel and there were many made but this is the Maverick. L6139. Any advice will be greatly appreiciated. Thx to Lane and Ron for responding. :D

Unless it has 6139 on it some where, it is probably a 6152 Maverick. The 6139 to my recollection was an all pull guitar that had a totally different undercarriage and was able to be changed around by the player, whereas the Maverick was not changeable without modifications.

Is there a bell crank (pull bar) in line with string 2? If not, you would have to get one from Michael Yahl (if he makes them) or James Morehead (if he makes them). Both are here on the forum. It could already be there and just had the pull rod removed. Again, pictures would help a lot to see what you have and what you need.
