I just picked up this Oahu relatively cheap ($200) It plays and sounds nice. Came with the pack of
original strings!
I don't think that metal pickgaurd is original as I have never seen one before, but if it isn't, someone did a good job on it as it matches very well.
Anyone else ever seen one?
Either way she is a keeper!
(Sorry for the blurry pix. Camera battery died after a few shots)

I have one of the slightly earlier Tonemasters from about 1938-1940, and I really like it. Long scale, rich tone, cool old school vibe. I have never seen a pickguard on any of the Tonemaster/Diana models. It doesn't look bad though, but for most picking styles it seems it wouldn't really protect anything.

I took her to practice tonight without even putting new strings on. (I think it just has a standard set of 11's on it)
I can't wait until I get a real set of strings on it.
The singer loved the old school sound it has.

I took it off. There are some scratches nothing too bad. I might just keep it. "decorative hillbilly" pretty much sums up my aethstetic Laughing .

Great price for that guitar. The case looks like the type used by Fender, with the stitched ends. I would believe it's not the original case ( but a better one !) Very Happy

i believe that's the original case. I've had two or three exactly like that. Nice price too... good score.
