Many years ago Ernest Tubb and the boys appeared at a neighboring county fair. After the show I got them to autograph this picture. I am quite proud of it.
Ernest had an outstanding band at the time.
The members from left to right are:
Leon Rhodes
Cal Smith
Jack Drake
Buddy Charlton
Jack Greene
Ernest Tubb
Johnny Wiggins
The instrumentals with Leon and Buddy were out of this world. I never saw anyone dance on the pedals like Buddy Charlton.

I thought it was gracious to include the bus driver in the picture, obviously a "production still." I don't think you'd see that nowadays, but it speaks to the character of ET, and the way things were back then...

Barry,
Not only did he get into the picture but ET even let him get up and sing a song.

I listened to an Ernest Tubbs live album for the first time the other day. Deffinetly one of my new favorite artists to listen too. That Leon sure does let his fingers fly!
