Carter Starter Pedal Steel Question

Hi:
I am new to pedal steel and have a Carter Starter pedal steel.

The guitar seems to be a bit to high for me because I have to lift my feet off the floor to use the knee levers.

The legs on the guitar are not adjustable.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Do anyone make a conversion kit to lower the guitar?

Regards,

John

Raise your seat! :D :D :D

How tall are you?

Height is 5 feet 10 inches.

Long body with short legs.

Try to raise your body with a taller seat. Sounds like you are sitting too low. I am 5'10" with a Carter (not a Starter) and I am right under the guitar with my legs with a pak-a-seat (height at 20-1/4"). I know Carter had a standard height they built guitars at and would assume the Starter to be the same height.

I had the same problem till I adjusted my seat to a 22in height! :whoa: While trying to solve my problem I found posts suggesting extending the knee levers with some sort of stiff tubing or you can always get the carter underheight kits. Good Luck.

I bought a new adjustable seat.

Problem solved.

Thanks for the advice.
