Congrats Forumite & Grammy Winner, Ed Gerhard

Forumite Ed Gerhard's arrangment of Moon River was part of last night's Grammy-winning compliation of Henry Mancini tunes played by world-class guitarists. The record is called "Pink Guitar". Congratulations, Ed!

I gotta get that CD. I have all of Ed's CD's that I can find, and I have almost made my fingers bleed trying to learn some of his arrangements. Ed if you read this keep those great acoustic CD's coming.

Andy, I just went to the link you provided, listened to some samples and ordered two CD's on Amazon.

I went to Ed's amazon site too....very very VERY nice stuff Ed! Congrats on the Grammy!
BTW...my pal Wayne Johnson, also a mind blowing guitar picker, is also on the Pink Guitar CD.

Hey guys-
Wow, thanks a lot! I just happened upon the Events and Announcements by mistake and found your kind words. They're appreciated. Now i wish I would've played "Moon River" on a Weissenborn (actually, I did try; I think it's impossible).
I usually only check the No Peddlars or sometimes the Buy and Sell forums, so this was a very happy accident indeed. Thanks againvery much.

It was great meeting you at NAMM (even though I didn't really realize who you are). I love your new album.
Ed is one of my favorite steel players on the planet, and maker of CDs that refuse to leave rotation on my CD changer.

www.edgerhard.com for some great guitar playing. Along with some outstanding original tunes, he plays some of the best versions of Beatles tunes I've heard on several of his CD's.
For anyone who enjoys Christmas music (I realize it's March now), Ed's instrumental Christmas CD's are a masterpiece on 6 and 12 string acoustic guitar and lap steel.

Folks should also check out Ed's CD "House of Guitars." Ed took pawnshop guitars and lap steels - sometimes not even changing the strings! - and made the most profound and beautiful music. Ed, you somehow get a sound out of a steel guitar that's completely unique and personal. I don't know how you do it, but it's very, very good.

I also loved Ed's "House of Guitars" album. Especially "Let It Be Me" and "Farther Along". Also, on his Live album, "The Water Is Wide" is done very nicely, and is probably my all time favorite acoustic guitar piece. If you like great acoustic guitar and steel music, check out Ed's work.

You guys are way too kind, thanks a million. Nice to meet you, too at NAMM, Dan, those THD Univalves are pretty unreal, huh?
I appreciate your kind words about "House of Guitars," too. Those cheapo guitars were often a pain to play and I never changed the strings on any of 'em (I tell people that these are the kinds of guitars where you wash your hands AFTER you play) but I sure had fun.
