Hi All,
We will be attending the Jamboree next week and we are staying at the Harvey, since we arrive a couple of days early we want to take in the Stockyards and particularly Billy Bob's.
Can anyone tell me how far it is from the Hrvey, what would be the taxi fare.
Thanks for your help
Best regards

It's probably a 20-30 minute ride (depending on traffic and time of day) but I don't know what cab's cost these days |

Billy,
In actual driving distance it will be about 20-25 miles, one way. I have no idea what a taxi will cost but it won't be cheap. I would guess $30USD each way, minimum. You might consider renting a car for a day, which might be cheaper and would give you more flexibility.
All the major car rental companies are at DFW airport, close to the Harvey. The hotel folks should be able to give you an estimate on both taxi fares and can probably arrange a car rental if needed. |

The Fort Worth Stockyards are a hoot, but according to Billy Bob's schedule, nothing is happening at that venue until Friday of that week, and you should be at the Harvey at that time.
When at the Stockyards, hit the Ernest Tubb Record Shop (say hey to Jim and AJ, the two nicest folks ever), buy some western duds at Leddy's, and eat a steak at one of the excellent restaurants on Exchange.
And Jeff is correct, it would be cheaper and more convenient to rent a car for the day than it would be to take a taxicab back and forth from Irving to FW.
