I know this subject has been discussed many times, but I need a quick fix for this and thought someone here might reply quicker than the time it would take me to search the archives.

I'm setting up a Legrande II and need the 1st string F#-G# and 2nd string Eb-E raise on RKR. I'm struggling with getting the throw long enough for getting the first string all the way up to G#. Does anyone have a good working setup to post here as a table, listing changer hole and (14 hole) bell crank hole for each pull and the bellcrank connected to the lever? Getting the 1st string to reach G when the second string starts raising would be a nice feature. I use a .013 for the 1st and .015 for the 2nd string.

Thanks,
Niklas Widen

I posted the same question on the forum a while back. The solution was to file off some of the stop block for the lever to pull further. See http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=183800&highlight=

Niklas, a quick fix would be to move the activator rod down 2 holes lower on the bell crank. This is the rod coming from the knee lever. It makes the knee very stiff though. I welded a bell crank top to another 14 hole bell crank and made an 18 hole bell crank. That worked for me. You can also drill and tap a new hole 1/8" above the current hole in the knee bracket. That will give you more travel, but to me it seems the knee moves too far. I hope this helps.

Niklas, I followed Kens advice, filed a little of the stop block on my L/Grand, worked fine, the pull is now perfect.
