An original-owner Franklin has surfaced, and there are questions of value.
It's a tough economy and the guitar needs some TLC, but the owner is doing the right thing asking for our help. I'm guessing $3K as-is, but I'm not buying.
He posted in the "Stories" section, rightly so because he is sharing a great story.
I know a lot of our experts don't get to that section often, which is the reason for my post.

Looking at the pics, 2500.00 would be a fair price.
It will need some extensive polishing and probably a new fretboard to start with............
If it was all fixed up, then I'd agree on the 3000.00.
But with this whole economy thing going down..... |

Joey, I am very interested in the steel, it's local = no shipping costs added I would gladly pay a higher price.
The question is, what is the actual condition.. if it needs a buffing and a mechanical overhaul that's one thing,
but if the body is damaged.. that's completely different.
Placing a sight unseen value on a steel that has been stored in an unheated, damp, possibly wet location is not a great idea.
If it were a pristine, unmolested, properly maintained and stored steel of course the value would be higher.
When I get the chance to inspect it, I will make an offer based on my educated opinion. |

The fact that it is an S10 not a SD10 give it extra value IMHO, because those are really rare with Franklins, and because you could get this guitar under 50 pounds in a lightweight case, which is a plus for players who do fly gigs. |
