Hey gang,
I'll be at Coopers in Nevada City CA on Thursday the 17th with The Cowlicks. We're opening for Moot Davis featuring Pete Anderson.

Then on Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th I'm heading off to Konocti Harbor in Kelsyvile CA with the The Mother Truckers to open the show for living legend, Merle Haggard.

Looking forward to seeing some friends and making some new ones. Can't wait to hear David Wright's buddy play guitar with the Hag and the Ham!

How does a humble weekend warrior like myself get so darn lucky?!

Hey Dave!
I recently saw John Michael Montgomery when I was at Konocti on business! Great show and great venue! You're really in for a great weekend, especially opening that show! If you've not been there before, hold on! The last 18 miles up the mountain to Kelseyville will probably take you an hour! This show will be a blast! Sorry I can't be there!

Hey Michael, I've played there before with Reba, Charlie Danials, Huey Lewis & the News, Shedaisy, Don Williams, and once already with Merle.

Like I said, "How did I get so darn lucky?"

It's a good time for sure, and the beer is free for the band!

The opening act on the show you saw had 2 old buddies of mine, Dennis Sherman on guitar and my old fiddle player, Michael Kane.(He replaced b0b when he quit our band.)

Wish I coulda seen the show.

You would be correct....I sure do miss you folks back there in my favorite spot on this here planet!! Gotta love Sonoma county!

Dennis comes to Mesa about every 3 months for a week on biz...and b0b visited here during the steel show in January....I think that I'm a bit homesick.

Jack and Dave,
How right you are! They were very good and had almost as good a time as the audience!
John Michael did a great show as well! I was watching the band set up. A beautiful old D10 'Bud in John Michael's band. I would have loved to meet the steeler! He was very good! I was lucky to get seats at the second row of tables right dead center. What a great time!

The Shannon Ryder gang are friends of mine. Nice folks!!

Second row center are great seats. There's really not a bad seat in the indoor venue.

Hi Greg. It;s gonna be the Kline! The ShoBud is gone.

When are you coming to the Bay Area with your band? Our bands should do some shows together!

We like the DuNord! It's a great place. Let me know and I'll try to get down there if we're not playing!

My weekend was exhausting but tons of fun. Got to talk with Norm a little. He's a super nice guy and was happy to share some stories and a few pointers about pick blocking. His GFI sounds great and he played beautifully. It was the first I've heard him live! I'm sure glad I played first. I wouldn't want to follow a class act like that!

Merle was on top of his game and played lots of lead guitar. We watched him and the Strangers during sound check/rehearsal and Merle really cares about the music! That was good to see.

I ran into a lot of people I knew and that made it even more fun. I was a bit nervous and it messed my playing up a bit but no one seemed to notice, except maybe for the two other steelers in the crowd. The Mother Truckers had a good response and we sold tons of CDs and T-shirts. In fact we ran out of CDs!

Gonna catch up on my sleep now-
