Another IE8 Issue

Hope I describe this understandably....

Single webpage window opened but clicking on another shortcut or web link automatically redirects the window to the second site. This is not being done only from the Favorites bar in the IE windows---it seems to happen "globally" I've played with the tabbed browsing options over and over yet can't seem to allow each window to open in its own window.

I'm not a fan of the multiple tab thing at all---would hope to simply open multible windows without any one of them being redirected.

If I understand you correctly, When you click on a link instead of opening in a new window it just opens in the existing window. That is how a browser works, whether Internet Explorer, Firefox or what ever. However if you RIGHT click on a link you will get an option to open in new tab or new window, and preserve the existing browser window.

Thanks Jack but I feared I wouldn't be able to describe this properly but as dumb luck has it I stumbled across the operator error at work here!

From the Tools menu under the Internet Options Advanced tab there is/was a selection entitled: Reuse Windows for Launching Shortcuts (when tabbed browsing is off.) Unclicking this solved the problem immediately.

As always I appreciate the help!!
