GK MB115 same as GK MB200?
Does anyone know if the amp in the GK MB115 is the same as the Gallen Kruger MB200. I can pick up a 115 for a song and even if I had to change the speaker and open the back it might be good. Any experiences?

Jim,
I don't have any first hand knowledge, however, my guess is that is is basically the same amp. The chassis is different, as is the limiter (and the ability to bypass, the horn/tweeter (which also can be switched off), and the boost control in the master section.
I would also guess that the eq frequencies are the same as the MB200. I would think the limiter, and the boost control would be an asset. I would be curious to hear how their 15" speaker works with steel.
If the "song" you can get it for is cheap enough, I'd go for it.

Always remember you're unique..... Just like everyone else

I don't know if they are the same but I have one of the MB115 and they are sweet. The sound I get from this amp is very good I can set the EQ to get a very high sound or a very warm sound. I prefer the warm sound I am playing a GFI Ultra SD10 thru a Hilton volume pedal with a Behringer Delay/Reverb pedal and it sounds amazing. The amp only weighs around 37lbs and is very easy to handle.
