I need a wiring diagram for a 3 way box style toggle switch to connect the 2 pickups properly on my MSA Classic D-10. If anyone has this wiring diagram could you please post it here so I can get an idea of how to hook it up right? Thanks for any help. John McGlothlin

If you don't need a tone control and a bypass switch, the wiring is very very simple...

If you have a DPDT switch (let's call it a "double 3-pin switch", just like the one in your picture) you need to use only one "column" of 3 pins, ignoring the other 3.

The central pin is the common, or OUT, connect it to the jack positive lug.
The other two pins, upper and lower, must be soldered to the positive wires of each pickup.

The ground/negative wires and/or shield of the pickups don't need to be switched and have to be soldered together to the jack negative lug.

That's it, hope it helps. Smile

Most of the switches that I've worked with require alternate poles to be used on the ends- hence bridging the center.

When wiring the switch, connect to both posts, e.g. both posts on each end for the pickups and both posts in the center for the output.

Then if a problem would develop in one of the contacts the other one would still work. Just an added "safety" margin.

Related question, since I'm getting some signal dropouts, and wanted to go over all the connections at all the pots and switches.
How do I remove the knobs from from those pots? Even after I pulled the set screws, it feels like a spring is pulling the knobs back down onto the pots
