Lower tone knob is not originnal. No big deal. But lots of barroom smoke crud, so the changer might be gunked up. But the price is about right.

eBay S-12

Post by Dave O'Brien »

I doubt it's a U-12 but probably an extended E9th. Thin pick up would probably need rewinding or rerouting the cabinet to replace with a GL if you wanted the best sound. You'd need 2 more pedals to make it a full U-12 E9/B6th. Not a bargain IMHO plus the moulded case is often cracked, handle coming off ,etc.

I agree. You'd also need to of Tom Bradshaw's conversion inserts to convert strings 5 and 6 from double raise double lower to triple raise single lower.

Jim P could easily set it all up for you, and you are pretty close to him. It's a good deal, but be prepared to spend more to get it in tip top condition.

I'll pass on it, thanks for the info. I think i'll wait for a GFI U-12, or maybe see what Jim P has. Thanks all. JT.
