I have my New Alumitone mounted in my guitar and now curious why is has 2 different wiring diagrams.
One shows even hooking up a switch to the grounds? I guess this would change impedance?. If someone knows
Does this change tone?? or??? please enlighten me:)...Thanks Gentlemen...

You must have one of their " split-able" humbuckers... They have many different types of units now.

Using a switch ... You can put it either single coil mode or humbucking.

Their tonebars and their bass guitar counterparts (technically identical) are all splitable, although the website does not state this. At least I did not find it.

The additional toggle switch is worth the installation tone-wise. Tone changes towards what one would call "single coil tone", although technically this is not what is happening. Their pickup is always a humbucker pickup.

This stems from the fact, that they have a small transformer there and the toggle cancels out one of the secondary coils. So strictly technically, it is not classical coil cut switch, but it sounds like.

If you are unsure about mounting an extra switch, I suggest you install the pickup with the switch "on the fly" and make the setting you like most permanent.
