| I seem to scrape when sliding my bar from fret 10 down to 3 for example. Ive adjusted my treble but I'm thinking it might be a string issue or maybe I'm not holding the bar correctly. I need help. Thanks Jerry |

Don't adjust your tone. Its a matter of bar control. Try muting the offending string with your thumb in front of the bar. Also you can gliss only on the strings nessesary by slightly angling the bar. Hard to describe but easy to show in person. You can also mute the scrappy strings with the palm of your picking hand. Its a common problem that goes away with practice.

What strings are you playing?
Are you only covering strings you are playing with the bar?
As an example, covering all strings and playing 5,6,8 will create noise on the 1st-4th strings. With that string combo put the nose of the bar over 5 and angle the blunt end of the bar slightly up and give the bar a bit more pressure. Then try the long bar slide.

I wouldn't be suprised if you are using a stainless steel bar on stainless steel strings.  |

Consider GHS Pure Nickel Rollerwound strings. GEt them here on the Forum. They are not so zippy.
Then use a Stainless bar on the Nickel strings.
If you use stainless strings, try a chrome plated bar.
There are lots of reasons why, but it don't matter. It works.
