CONGRATS !! Manny Escobar won the best steel player award at the "Mass. Country Music Awards Assoc." award nite this week !! A well deserved award as Manny plays great pedal steel with several top country groups in the area. Interesting side-lite is that 5 of the 6 nominated steel players , Manny , Roger Trahan , Kerry Anderson , Andy Perry and Eddie "C" all belong to the premier New England steel club , RISGA !! Any one in the area looking to join & learn more about pedal & non-pedal steel should check out the WWW.RISGA.com web site !! Come on down and join in !!! You will be glad you did !!! the old geezer AKA Eddie "C" |

How are we supposed to hear this fine talent?
Perhaps YOU can help eveyone on this issue. |

Sorry bout dat but we all still love all you guys out there !! Maybe at a RISGA meeting one of our younger & smarter members will record and post one of our jam sessions !!!??? the old geezer AKA Eddie "C" |

For those of you that can make it to Norwalk Ct. on Nov 12 and 13, they can catch Manny, he is scheduled to play along with other great local players and Russ Hicks, Robbe Turner, Herby Wallace, and others.
Don't Miss it! _________________ Regards, Craig

Way to go Manny! Congratulations!
Very well deserved. Manny plays great traditional country steel plus has some wicked licks on the old rock and blues stuff. He also teaches, supports new players and does benefits and RISGA shows. Sometimes he brings his friend Willie...
Don't miss Manny and Elaine at the Norwalk show next month. Last year Roger played at the show.
Ray - I'm a bit younger (but not smarter) than Eddie C, so I'll try to post some pics and audio. I have 6 hrs of audio from the RISGA Annual show last month. I just need to clean it up and figure out how to cut it into separate tracks. _________________ RISGA President: GFI SD-10, 1969 Emmmons D-10, Nashville 112, Hilton pedal |

Also, Manny made his entire steel himself (I dunno, legs, too?) by himself--AND the cases!

Thanks for the compliments. My good friend Eddie Cunningham called the award "best steel player award". Actually, it is "Steel Guitar Player of the Year". We have far better precision/lightning speed pickers in this neck of the woods. I think it`s my shenanigans that helps me win. also, I choke under this kind of public pressure. |
