Do a search for ZB guitars on e-bay.
There is a supposedly ZB D-10 listed for sale.
And just like Red Skelton used to say "it just don't look right to me".
I'm far from an expert on ZB's, and it might be a Zane Beck creation, but I have some doubts.
I would like some other opinions on it.

Erv,
I saw the guitar and it is not a ZB. I dont even think Zane built it. I have seen some of his early work and that guitar doesnt look like anything that Zane did. I have however, seen those keyheads, fretboards and endplates on something. Just cant remember where or what brand.

Greg,
Glad to hear that we agree. I sent the seller a note to the effect that I doubt the authenticity of the guitar. Will advise if and when I hear back.
It would be nice to know the builder, though.

Russ,
Haven't done anything with it, in fact I have two ZBs and, so far, they're just resting in their cases.

I know what you mean. I'm down to one ZB and plan on keeping it that way ... for a while ... Wink

I need to make up some pull rods for one of the ZBs.
I found some hex rod and cut it to length and some left and right hand tap and dies. I figured out that bicycle spokes would work for the part that attaches to the changer fingers. Now all I need is some rod for the part that hooks to the bellcranks. Whoa!

I wonder if there's any possibility it is in part an early ZB that was rebuilt. I say this because the Guy who built Pearce guitars had a guy who fabricated much of the metalwork. This other guy, Ray Krick lives down the road from me, and I know he has taken many guitars and gutted them, using endplates and some parts, and put in his own pedals, pulls and other parts like pickups. He has used lots of those fretboards, cause he had them left over from the Pearce days.

I'll see what he says about this guitar.

Looks nothing like a ZB. I think this is a design all his own.
