I started a new gig last night with Jerry Pierce and his group. We are playing the first Thursday evening of the month(s) at the Senior Citizen Center in Springtown, Tx. from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
The personel: Jerry Pierce, Rythem Guitar, and Vocals- Joe Petricovic, Keys, and Vocals- Red "Feather", drums, and vocals- Steve Culverson, Bass- and Myself on Guitar, and Vocals.
I enjoyed the traditional Country music, (I hadn't heard some of those tunes in years!)
and The musicians are first class. It was also great to see some of our Senior Citizens dancin' their fool heads off.
It was great to see Bobby Green there soakin' up the music. I've known him for more than 30 years, and it was grand to talk about old times. We were remembering an old friend of ours who is playing in the big band in the sky, but he played Steel on some hits with Jim Reeves. ("Bimbo" for one.) His name was "Jimmy Lathem" from Oddesa, Tx. He was a lot of fun to be around. We also talked about our friend, the late Merle David. I can't wait untill we do it again Feb. 3 2005. Hope to see you there. |
