Heck ... No way Larry ... I had a heart transplant nearly 13 years ago, and it hasn't changed a thing. My playing is still as it was, perhaps a little better only because I've had 13 years more to learn. My donor must have liked pedal steel Just enjoy what you do, forget about the pace maker...it's doing it's job

From a nurse's point and Pastor the lows from the bass if to close to you may give you a problem. I have seen traveling that bass notes make the pacemaker do funny things. Check with your Dr to see if you have one that the lower notes don't effect.

Hi Micky, Wow that heart transplant is some serious stuff. I am so glad you are doing ok. Also good to hear it doesn't affect your playing. I am kind of worried about sitting between my Session 500 and my D-10 Sho-Bud. A lot of electricity and sound waves going on.
Bob H. I am feeling a lot better now. No more arrhythmia. Still weak though. Yes you never know. I'm 57. Guys take care of your heart.
Bob M. That was kind of what I was wondering. Bass notes jarring your ribcage. Thanks, I will check that out with my Dr
Thanks all, Larry Johnson |

I had a defibrilator-pacemaker installed after having aortic valve repalacement and major heart failure. Most people who get a defib/pacer do so because of dangerous episodic heart rhythms like ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrilation. The device doesn't pace the heartrate like a normal pacemaker does. The defibrilator delivers a jolt of electricity to snap your heart back into normal sinus rhythm. The pacing occurs right after the jolt to bring the heart back to it's normal rate. A device that is only a pacemaker keeps the heartrate (beats per minute) at a normal rate and does not deliver a shock. I've had mine for 7 years and have never had a shock, Knock on Wood. I'v been playing out once a week and practicing with bands and have never had any problems with the device. I get it checked out every 3 months. Keep playing you'll be fine. _________________ Zum Encore, Zum Stage One, Fender 2000, Harlan Bros., Multi-Kord, |
