For my Dad - Adventures In Paradise

Here's my attempt at Adventures In Paradise. My dad passed away last year, and I've been learning some things I remember he loved. He ALWAYS wathced the TV show Adventures In Paradise and I've always loved the haunting melody so I worked up this version as close to Jerry Byrd's as possible, so for you Dad ! Hope you smile down with approval.

Grew up listening to his LP's of Buddy Merril, Chet Atkins and he delighted in my learning guitar and bought me everything under the sun (sure wish I had them all now !).

Thank you Chuck Lettes for your beautiful version which 'pushed me on' to learn the tune.

BTW, Jerry must have used his diatonic tuning on this right ? I for the life of me still can't grab all the chords he does in his version :(

Mitch, you did it again! Beautiful! If you would put your lap steel songs to tabs and offer them for sale with the backing tracks, I'd be you first customer.

Hi Mitch,
Beautiful sounds and lovely vibrato! Your dad and Jerry would be proud. Where did you get the rhythm track? Keep 'em coming.

Thanks so much for the kind and encouraging words Barry ! Yes, I'm 59 and have played guitar since age 10, professionally until age 36 when I "went straight" (making a TON more money now ! )

I've had a playing career and a recording engineer career. Now I'm programming computers ..

So I come from a long music background... about 1 year on lap steel this month. About the same length of time on Dobro / Weissenborn prior to switching to lap steel.

Having the musical time of my life !!
