Have any of you run across Fats lately? Just wondering if he is playing any live performances these days, or sticking to the studio.

Last I heard was that he was touring with Pure Prairie League, but that was at least a year ago.

I talk to Fats all the time. He was working on the road with Karen Elson and is picking up some very cool recording work with Jack Black. He has a band with his wife, Kristi Rose. They stay pretty busy.

He will be here the first weekend of October with his good buddies Kieran Kane and Kevin Welch for their annual appearance at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, and I make sure to never miss their set!

I met FATS one day about 15 years ago at Seymour's. He came in and bought an old Sho-Bud Professional. At that time he told me was playing with The Manhattan Transfer.

Met Fats while touring Sweden and Norway this summer. We backed Chip Taylor and talked backline gear. Fats and Kristi were really great.

Bob: I think that should be Jack
White ?
I have met Fats ( & Kristi) a couple of times in Nashville, and I really love his pedal steel playing. He still got that Sho Bud Professional, and an old Emmons Push/Pull.
