What kind of case did it come with? Post a picture of the whole guitar from the front. What's the finish like, thin an nitro-like or more of a thick poly job?

What are the codes on those pots?
(In part reiterating CT's observations:)
The OK stamps and lack of visible pencil dates suggest late 60s or early 70s. A modern (post-spaghetti) decal on the front would cinch it. How about the case: black tolex with Fender logo riveted onto it? More confirmation.
I can't see visible penciled dates on the pickups' bases. My '67 Tele has these dates, so I'm still guessing later '60s/70s.

It's double 6 Stringmaster - 2 pickups with a fader knob. Normally, the knob sits under the string guard. A picture of the pickup assembly installed would help.

It's a 65, the date/code 2465 is on one of the pickup bobbins.

actually... it's not a Stringmaster. It's a Fender Dual Six, according to the catalogs of the era. Stringmasters are double-8 strings.
Fender Co. was sold to CBS in early 1965. If this guitar is a '65 it's probably a CBS Fender. CBS or pre-CBS wouldn't make much difference in the value or the playability IMO.

A steel player can't afford shoes.

True, Doug. It's my (bad) habit to label anything with the Stringmaster pickup and style as such. I have an 8 string short scale Single Six that I refer to as my "mini-me" Stringmaster. It's very handy for gigs where I know I won't be using my B11 neck, or I don't feel like hauling my double 8 Stringmaster around.
