Has anyone tried to add a headphone jack to their Nashville 400? If so.......is it a big task? Wonder why Peavey never incorporated it into the amp at the factory?

Knowing Peavey, they'd probably send you a diagram of how to do it and sell you the parts too.

I've not tried it, but always wished mine had one. Nowadays I practice through my phones, delay/reverb pedal and Tascam MP3 box, which has an input for the guitar.

Well it is ugly but it works.
For non Fender amps:
The bottom quarter inch input jack connects to the extra speaker jack with a guitar cord.
Non powered headphones plugs into the stereo jack by the volume control. Now the amp can be turned way down but the headphone box can be turned up for the headphones.
For Fender amps:
unplug the quarter inch speaker plug.
The bottom quarter inch input jack connects to the speaker jack with a guitar cord.
Non powered headphones plugs into the stereo jack by the volume control.
I hate powered headphones because the battery is always dead when I need it the most. The drummer and bass player will not let me tune with just my amp. That's okay because the drummer never can find his sticks just before we start! They fit nice in my amp.
The box is homemade and about as big as a mouse.
Let me know if anyone wants one.

Some of our lower powered amplifiers did have headphone jacks, but the Nashville 400 was not designed as a rehearsal amp like the Nashville 112. There are circuits that could have been designed in the Nashville 400/Session 400 Limited amplifiers of the past, but I think that the train of thought at that time was for a "live working man's steel amp". At least that is my take on it. It's ironic that the heaviest Peavey steel amp, the Session 500 did have a headphone out though.

Anyway, from players that I've heard from lately are diggin' the weight of the Nashville 112.

Thanks for all the input guys! Ron..lol.....yes Peavey is great to work with...I bought the Opp amps from peavey parts when I did the modification on the Nashville 400... Peavey "support" is great, with people like Mike always there to help.
