Is the John Hughey copedent new? I can't remember seeing it before. Is it a misprint or did he actually use a D# on his 9th string? Sure miss John, he was at the top of the top.

It was a misprint caused by auto-fill on the spreadsheet program. I did that page a couple of months ago, from info I found elsewhere on the web.

I've corrected the error.

Bob, I worked on one of John's Emmons guitars (Black LeGrande)about 8 or 9 years ago. If I remember correctly he raised 4th string E to F# on his 2nd LKL also. Like most of the truly great players, I'm sure he would add or delete a change on a whim. I've been trying to find a way to put it on my guitar ever since, just can't find a place to put it that works for me. I have never been able to use 2 LKL's.

I had detailed drawings of his knee lever placements. It was very critical that they were in the exact desired locations. Most of his guitars were 9 & 9. These drawings should still be on file at the Emmons Co.

The one Bob links to (on John's website) is identical to the last one I received from John some time ago. I don't remember him ever raising the 4th to F# on a lever, but could have experimented with it at one time.

The copedant on John's site was the current copedant the last couple times I spoke to him.
I know we all still miss him..

Announcer on Willie's Roadhouse had some nice things to say about John last night. Spoke of his time with Conway Twitty and then his time with Vince Gill. It was refreshing to hear.
