I have a 1947 Fender Custom T8 that has one tuner on one tuning pan that was replaced by the former owner. It does not fit and skips a gear tooth as I tension the string. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase a replacement brass gear for this guitar that is similar to the original?

Contact Terry Mueller. I had the same problem you describe, and he's the only guy that had the tuner parts I needed for my '53 T-8. Plus if you need him to make the repair, his work is excellent. Here's his contact information:
