All my forum buddies: Ive been away from my camera for several months due to an extremely busy schedule at work..I've flown approximately 150 hours the last 60 days. I've worked for the same guy for almost 4 years, and this month has seen some pretty healthy changes!
For starters, I've acquired a home in Taos NM where ill be spending the majority of the summer months. I will still have my home in Dallas as well, and will be covering as much of the territory as I can on behalf of Mullen Steel Guitars. I will have a second shop setup next month and will have all the necessary tools for PSG repairs available there as well.
The atmosphere there is somewhat relaxed compared to Dallas to say the least. This has my creative juices flowing again, and Im sure this will result in a new round of well thought out lessons for Youtube.
Ive been playing with a band out of Albuquerque called UNWOUND, and Im beginning rehearsals this month for a band in Taos as well...I have already made a multitude of new friends in NM this year and Im looking forward to getting aquainted with a LOT more of the great players in the SW.!!
As always, Im very grateful to all of you, for your support, and your friendship......Mickey in Dallas (Taos!)

Hi Mickey

Sounds exciting and I know you have the energy to work like this.

I am on the mend and back to the beginning on steel.

We can go shoot pistols any time you are ready.

I lived in Taos for a few of years in the early 80's, its different, can be rough and sublime too. Its really a bunch of different groups that are almost separate, artists, musicians, indians, hispanics, and lots of gays mixed in with all of the above. Some groups mix some dont.

Its actually a very poor area especially in ranchos de taos. On the mountain just behind ranchos de taos there is a really cool place to collect staurolite crystals, they are in the shape of a cross and very cool. Also its at 7000' so keep that in mind when flying.

I agree with your assessment of Taos...Rancha has some pretty impoverished areas, but NM is like that almost everywhere outside of the big cities. the food is GREAT and the flying is really awesome too...our little Aircam is turbocharged, so we dont feel the density altitude...thanks for all you comments and input..More videos shaping up as we speak!..

Very Happy Hey Mickey, that club in Clovis was most likely the Boothill(it changed names several times) , in the 70's it was part of the Caravan club circuit out of Albq. part of Bill Smiths clubs. Seems there were Caravan clubs in Albq, Clovis, El Paso, and Amarillo then .....played em all way to many times.....have a LARGE time Mickey and God bless bud....Stormy Very Happy

When I was in Bible school in Tupelo Mis. I worked at the airport covering a J3, and used the work time taking flying lessons, I was hanging wall paper in Waynes house when he came in all nervious looking in all the merrows and saying I look bad, he had had a heart attack the summer while I was on break in Montgomery, I got him to lay down on the bed and was standing there when he just raised up and fell on the floor, I called his dad at the airport, he told me abour the attack last summer, when the doc came in I was stradled him punping his chest got down thinking the doc would not like what I was doing he said get back up and keep doing. he died in my arms.
Wayne tought flying to military pilots contrack school under his dads ticket, he was only 17 at the time, I had a great insructor learning to fly.
I had some great times while learning the bible. I worked for the doctors neice that delivered Elvis, he was number 325th baby the doc delivered.
Keep flying and have fun picking, see you down the road, Jack called last night got to call him back.
