Topic: What is the best rotary pedal for steel guitar? |

| I have a Leslie 16 that I love using, but there are times that I want to go light and not haul it to a gig. What is your opinion on the best rotary effects pedal I can use. I would like the off, slow and fast setting and if it can speed up and brake that would be a plus. Thanks, Tom |

H&K Tube Rotosphere
A guy told me last night he listened to us for two sets looking for the keyboard player -- then he asked me if it was coming out of my amp.  I don't use it much, but it's a great added sound texture.
Tom -- the mkii version that I use has the brake function.

I have had good results with the Line 6 RotoMachine:
Hear and see it!
and EXCELLENT results with the H&K Rotoshpere original (not MK II). The original Rotosphere has the brake and ramps between fast and slow speeds but not adjustable fast and slow speed pots (the MKII has those):

I used the Fender/Leslie model 16 for over 20 years gigging and overall the Rotosphere sounds just as good but will enable you to run at full amp volume.

I use a pedal called the mega vibe, made by KR musical products. It's basically a clone of an old Uni vibe. It has volume, intensity and speed knobs, and two settings, chorus and vibrato. It doesnt have some of the Leslie emulating features that the newer pedals have, but the sound quality is excellent. Also, you can blend it in very subtly to the tone you are already getting, which is something that not all these pedals do. The line6 pedal bugged me in that regard, it was too intense.
