I'll be bringing a few of my long awaited (formerly ill-fated) instrumental albums with me to Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. When I get back, I'll be making my albums available here in the US by way of SGF.
In the two-page liner notes, there's a list of the tunes, the instruments played, the other two players on the CD, and a list of endorsements. I chose to have the expanded version on my website.

I thought I'd share the last paragraph with y'all. Had I thought of it in time, I most likely would have put it in the liner notes.
"Pete Grant uses no Gibson instruments made under the current predatory regime."
It's kind of like "No luthiers or small instrument companies were harmed in the making of this album." |

Let's all vote for John Kerry so that Pete can play some Gibsons. |

Speaking of Gibson....I watched a show the other day that had John Ratzenburger (Cliff on Cheers) touring the Gibson factory...there sure was a lot of 'smoke being blown' during the spot....I've played the new Gibsons that have came out over the last few years...I'll stick with my '79 Les Paul Standard.....a much better made instrument...even if it doesn't have an 'extended tenon'

I'm looking forward to meeting you, Mike.
BTW, I changed the text to read "Pete Grant uses no Gibson instruments made under THEIR current predatory regime." Golly, I wouldn't want anyone to think that I thought the US regime was predatory... |

I've been privilaged to have a copy of Pete's record for some time. It really occupies it's own musical landscape. It's a very enjoyable listening experience. Having sat across from Pete with a Dobro on his lap let me add that Pete has incredible tone, technique and feel on the instrument (and he's no slouch on pedal steel either!) |

I got this album in Drogheda, l and got a single playing in the car from the airport.
It is a great album with a wide stylisitc variety, and some interesting and non typical takes on Dobro and E9.
I am sure this album will be growing on me over time.
I also got to hear Peter playing irish with a fine Uliian piper, Steve O'Brian.. (and me unusually with no mandolin this time DRAT).
But none the less a super melding of two instruments in the same musical idium.
As well hearing as his 2 sets of acoustic and electric on the main stage. Solo and with band.
A great sound and one of the best received payers in the show.,
Plus I joined Pete fora few acoustic jams we had out and about,
and the final last night electric bruhaha, ha ha, jam in the bar after the show.
This cat is a fine player, nothing phases him, and he picks his butt off in a very musical manner,
no matter what style comes his way.
And just plain fun to be around. |

I second David's comment; this is a great album. I played it over and over on the drive from Drogheda to Galway today. The songs are beautiful, and Pete has a lovely touch on both steel and dobro. Highly, highly recommended for something out of the usual "country box". |

I havn't got around to playing my copy yet, but I surely enjoyed all the performances that Pete gave - and there were many!!
Probably not the place to post, but I also enjoyed Jim's performance and that of his son on sax.

That's a good enough reason for me.
Seriously, I took a few lessons from Pete back in 1980 and I have to say he was a terrific teacher. Some teachers merely go through the motions or show the students how to play something by rote from tab. Pete actually TAUGHT me things that increased my knowledge of the instrument. I'm a better player because of him.
I'm looking forward to getting the CD.
