Many thanks to Steve Leonard for a fantastic show. The hotel is beautiful, the food and surroundings were great. BUT , the best was the tremendous talent that made the show complete. The back up band was quick to pick up even the unusual choice of songs. Since you have the likes of Bob Strickland, Jim Hartley, Ben Brogdan, and Mr Unger on fiddle, you can expect a classy gig. THe steel players were known and extraordinary, Hughey, Jernigan, Wallace, Hicks, Beaver and an old idol, Mr Roy who was the great sound of "Slow Poke". You all missed a good one. sincerly, Bob

Thank You, Steve and family, for such a great weekend! I keep telling everyone what a great show this is and that it's going to get bigger and better every year and you proved me right! If you couldn't make it this year, PLEASE put it on your schedule for next year. I promise you won't regret it! How wonderful to have so many talented musicians in the same place and to have the priviledge to hear all of them play. All our friends had great sets, but for those of you who were there on Friday night, you know who stole the show. Cory and Steve's rendition of Amazing Grace brought tears to several eyes(mine included). What a precious child! He really loves steel guitar. Those kind of blessings and fellowship are what these shows are all about. Again, thanks to all those involved, we can't wait till next year.

It was a truly amazing week end of great performers, not the least of which was that tremendous back-up band which was so good they even made my mistakes sound good.

The biggest and best surprise to me was the fantastic voicing Dr. Bob Strum pulled out of that 12 string A tuning with the high A on top.

Mike Sweeney, John Hughey, Doug Jernigan, Herby Wallace and my old buddy Walter Haynes never cease to amaze me. Young Cory played some beautiful melodies along with his mentor, Steve Leonard. There was not a single bad performance the entire week end.

Steve, you and your family pulled it off again: twice the attendance of last year – and if my guess is right, next year will be even bigger and better.

And I want to thank the great steeler Tony Dingus for helping this old man load his equipment.

Steve, save me a spot on next year’s show.

Well this was my first trip to Bristol, and what a great weekend it was.
I am usually so busy with sound and/or MC,ing at show that I hardly remember the weekend.
However this weekend I was there to enjoy friends and pick.

Thanks Steve for allowing me to do my little part.
What a treat to have MR Russ Hicks play guitar with me on Saturday, and to top that off, to have Laney Hicks sit in on my show on Sunday.
Well actually, after I played one song, it became the Laney Hicks show, and boy am I proud it did. Laney and the band actually made ME sound pretty good.

Looking forward to next year.

Ditto to everybody's comments about Bristol this year. I couldn't believe it when I first walked into the room. This was only the 2nd year of the show, and it had doubled in size of attendees and the size of the room had quadrupled. Looking around the room and seeing the likes of John Hughey, Randy Beavers, Russ Hicks, Mike Sweeney, Bryan Adams, Doug Jernigan, Herby Wallace, Walter Haynes and many more great pickers, plus seeing that great backup band back from last year with Jim Unger on fiddle and Ben Brogden on bass, I knew right then that this was going to be a super show, and it was. Thanks to Steve Leonard and his whole family for working so hard to make this a first rate show. The Bristol show has taken off right out of the chute like greased lighting. I am already looking forward to next year.

I sure missed being at this Steel Show this year.I hope to make it next year as long as my wife gets over this fight with cancer. She comes first with everything I do.I will have my new Emmons Legrand III and should be playing a lot better in another year. I'm there now.I missed all you guys Steve,Harold My old freind Bob Hayes, Bryan Adams and all the rest. Mike Sweeney I'll see you in Norwalk Conn. next month. I will be going to Frank Caruso's Steel Show this comming Sunday in Waltham Massachusetts which is only about 165 miles from our home here in Maine.Man this is beautiful Country up here and a freind I have know for about 4 years Merle Record is a great Steel player and the Record Family Band is a Excellant band. They play strait triditional Contry and will not play Country rock.Merle said if the had to play Country Rock they would not play out.I agree with him one hundred percent.

Steve,

Great show once again. So many great players, so many good friends, and lots of new friends too. I'm already looking forward to next year.

Bill F. I loved your set. As tired as I was, I would have sat there and played for hours if we could have. Your new girl singer is really somethin' isn't she. What a fun set, I wish I had the chance to work with you more often.

See ya soon,

Jim
