Custom Asher Electro Hawaiian - Start to Finish!!

Hello Gents,
I just wanted to post some pics of my new Electro Hawaiian and the building process. I picked it up yesterday and am already putting it to work. I tried to document the entire process as best I could. For those of you who know Bill Asher you already know he's a hell of an artist. I'm proud to be playing one of his instruments and to call him friend. Hope you guys dig the pics.

Okay, confession time: I love tortoiseshell, and that is one of THE nicest touches I've seen on any steel. I have tortoise glasses and sunglasses galore, and the big selling point for me on my Big Island soprano uke was the tort binding (the rope binding inside the tort didn't hurt one bit either!).
That said, I'm also happy that all said tort nowadays is faux, as we don't want to offend the gods by killing honu. I'm old school, but I do want those turtles around as long as possible.
Again: gorgeous steel!
EDIT: what's the wood man? And love the Weissenborn style bridge too.

Beautiful instrument. Congratulations.
It looks a lot like my Ben Harper model in terms of the tortoise shell. Mine's got tortoise shell pickup covers (just the pickup screws show, the rest is tortoise shell) and Bill made me some tortoise shell knobs by gluing the tortoise shell over Gibson speed knobs.

That is a beautiful guitar! Pretty neat to see your name on the wood there at the beginning, eh? I've had that experience with other luthiers and it's always a (admittedly geeky) thrill.
Question: Are the model 1s no longer being made with the sound chambers, or did we just miss that step?

Thanks guys!! Mike, the wood is Koa. I love Tort shell as well. It turned out better than I could have ever imagined.
And Darrell, we just missed that step.
They're still made with the tone chambers.
