Hirricane Ivan has left town! We are going to have another great time in Gulfport, Ms on Oct 2nd, VFW Bldg, Dedeaux Rd. Music starts at noon until...
Jerry Jaye and David Easley are the feature artist. Plus we will have an appearance of the Miss. Coast Jazz Society band called "Biloxi Jazz". DSSGA members Mike Brewer and Ed Clark will be in this group.
And to top all this off, we will be graced by a group of "RED HAT SOCIETY LADIES" parading around in the building. "Biloxi Jazz" band will perform in association with our society ladies. Much fun for all.
And, (again) it even gets better--this is the week known as "Cruising the Coast". You will be treated to about 14,000 ancient antique classic automobiles from all over the USA. These cars will be seen running all over the coast. If you are into classic autos this is the place to be-after you visit with us during our Saturday event. Don't forget that we have the best steaks on the coast and many other places. Ben O'Dell is even known to sing a few songs too.Thanks.

Bill,
Looks like I won't be able to be there Oct 2, too many irons in the fire, besides that will be a work day. I will be in Longview, TX installing a system that they just turned up hot and they want to test it the 15th.
Looks like another great show, would like to have picked with Jerry,
Glad you and Betty came through Ivan ok
my best

John, sure wish you could be here also. And if you can bring that great guitar player Gene Breeden with you.. hint, hint.
Hal Higgins will be in the house and will open the show for us as always. No one plays our National Anthem any better than Hal. Looking forward to a big time again..Come on down folks and help us plan our end of the year event for December 4. We just want to have an event that all like-not only steel guitar pickers......

Bill,
We are still in Tennessee. No significant damage to our house in Florida, according to our neighbors -- so all is well with us (including my beautiful new Excel. Regards to Betty, Hal, R.J. etc. Have fun at the October show.

Glad to hear that good news R.J.
For all you guys out there in this nether world, R.J. was one of the first volunteers to take his moving and hauling equipment to Florida to help out those in need there. He is to be commended for this gracious act. We need more people like R.J. in this world.
Glad to put you on the schedule R.J..

The sun was shinning on the MIssissipi Gulf Coast this weekend after all the hurricanes in the area. Naturally we missed the folks from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and parts of Mississippi who could not make it here. We send our best to all those suffering damage and hope repairs are forthcoming.
R.J. Buras managed to drive from the Daytona, Florida area and we are so proud of him for that effort. (R.J. has taken all his big earth moving vehicles to Florida to help out there). Hal Higgins was off the road for this month and was able to be here also. Hearing Hal, R.J. and Jerry Jaye perform at the same time made me think I was at the big convention in the sky. They really played well together and surprised and pleased the audience-and especially me. Mike Brewer, Ed Clark and David Brown-all DSSGA members-brought their "Biloxi Jazz" group with Owen McPeak to our show. A local chapter of the "Classy Lassy Red Hat Ladies" was in the audience and gave us a parade not to be forgotten soon. Great entertainment here.
The steaks keep getting better and better also. The VFW staff does a great job here and we are all thankful for this organization of veterans.
Next show is on Dec. 4th. Start making plans.
Any player desiring a slot on this end of the year and Christmas party, please contact me as soon as you can..Want to please all of you.
Thanks,
Bill Stafford |
