San Antonio Area Steel Guitar Players will be holding our second jam session on June 26th, 2011 at the Helotes VFW Post #7108, 8795 FM 1560, San Antonio, Texas..78254.
Once again we're inviting all steel guitar players and their families and friends. The admission is free but we do take up a donation to offset the rent of the hall. Last month we had enough money donated to pay last months rent and Junes rent, and half of July's rent. A big "Thank You" to all the donors.
The VFWs Canteen will be open to sell all of your favorite beverages. No food will be available.
Bring anything you may want to sell, trade, or rent pertaining to our music. Steel guitars, amps, courses, cd's etc.Nothing that grows, eats, or smells.
Back up players are welcomed too. Please be at the VFW ready to play at 2 pm. The hall will be opened at 1 pm.
Come out and have a good time with us. Last month was really good and this month we want to be better.....Joe Rouse

Carson Wells has committed again to be in attendance. He will be playing his steel and bass if we need him.
So far we are doing pretty good on e-mail replies and first time attendees.
Any steel player is invited to come out and play no matter what your skill level and we do appreciate the musicians that help make up the band and sing.
June 26th, 2011 at the Helotes VFW Post #7108 in San Antonio, Texas 78254, 2pm until 5 pm. Bring anything you have to sell, trade, or show us within reason...cds, steel guitars, amps, pa system...etc. Please nothing that eats, grows, or smells.
Come join the fun and meet people that you share an interest with...jr

Thank you Brian, you and Carolyn are great at helping us...Thank you Ronnie Bennight and his wife Toyah for their help. Kenneth Piper and his wife Jorja and that huge PA system did a great job for us. Kenny also played some rhythm and fiddle...Thank you Kenny. My friend David Jones was in attendance with his beautiful SD-10 Williams and did great. Bubba Overbeck was at the jam but was a spectator this month but plans to be joining us on the jam in July
We had singers that did a great job...Ken Metcalf also playing steel and rhythm and singing, Dotti Wood playing bass and singing great, and for those who didn't know...Carson Wells not only makes a great guitar but he can sing and very well. Carson was playing a C(carson)W(wells) D-10 and had it smoking. Ken Metcalf and Commander Cody were great contributors and a big Thank You goes to the them. Bill Menges from Pearland played my CW and did a great job.
We also had Reggie Amos from Marble Falls playing lap steel and Billy Gilbert played 2 songs on his dobro. Tim Donnaly from Wimberly played his Carter D-10 and we're glad to have him.
I have a commitment with the VFW for another six months to hold our jams at their Post and we will have our next jam on July 24, 2011 at the VFW Post # 7108 San Antonio, Texas..Thank to all 46 who came to join the fun and come back and bring some sidemen to help us..jr

Please make note that the great lady playing bass and singing songs the great way is Patti Wood and not Dotti. Please accept my apologies Patti and I promise to use your proper name in the future....jr
