Hi,
I am new to the forum, and an "intermediate" steel player.
There is a short series of licks in the following song/video that I have been trying to discern. they seem like standard licks so I was hoping to learn them for general use.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kepY7ox_9xg
Therefore I'm asking if anybody could point out, in any capacity, how it's done, i would love that.
The licks are from timestamp 3:00 (slide up from the first fret) to about 3:14 (when he leaves the 11th fret to go back down).
I use a standard e9th tuning on a 10 string, and am assuming he is doing that as well.
Thanks for any help and insight,
Dylan |

Dylan, I'll take a listen and see if I can explain any of the stuff I played that night. That's a song I have a basic parameter for but never really play it the same way twice. I don't know anything very complicated. Just try to make up a part that works.
Honored that you enjoyed it. There's many much more amazing players here in this forum.
Take care

Dave has a disarming habit of omitting to mention that he is the man. |

Dave that was just awesome... The song took me back, shades of "Fire On The Mountain", beautiful. Anything you could share would be appreciated. That Bud gleams in the light! Great group! |
