I had a Sho-Bud Pro-I converted to an S10U 7x5.
Basically just take your desired S12U tuning and lose the bottom 2 strings.
The "Meat" of both tunings is still intact.
You give up the Boo-Wha pedal, and of course the standard E9th 9th-string="D", which you are probaly already used to not having.

THANKS ROGER AND PETER FOR THE INFO...
I DO MISS THE "D" STRING. I STILL PLAY A D10 TOO.
I AM USED TO SOME SINGLE NOTE LICKS WITH THE D STRING THAT I LEARNED FROM JEFF NEWMAN. I TRY THEM ON MY UNI AND GET LOST. EVEN W/THE B RAISING TO D I NEED THE B AND THE D. JEFF WAS RIGHT TOO.. I SHOULD BURY MY D10 IN THE BACKYARD!!!
I AM USED TO THE 6,8,10 CHORD...AND THE UNI 6,8,9 AS WELL.
I SEE THIJS KAPPENS SETUP..PRETTY INTERSTING.. IS THAT 4TH PEDAL A FRANKLIN SETUP? HE HAS A LOW "A" STRING..AND PETE YOU HAVE A LOW "G#"?
ONE OTHER PROB I HAVE IS BEING A LEFTY.. I CANNOT SIT W.OTHER STEELS TO TRY THEM.. I BOUGHT THE UNI 12 BECAUSE IT FASCINTATED ME FOR A LONG TIME. SO I TRY TO WORK TUNINGS OUT IN MY HEAD AND PAPER B4 I CAN SIT WITH THEM. NOW HAVING THE UNI I AM ENJOYING IT A LOT.
BUT HAVING THAT WAR WITH SOME OLD RUNS I USE...I WAS THINKING THAT POSSIBLY A UNI 10 MAY SOLVE IT.
I LIKE HAVING THE PEDALS FOR THE 6TH MODE...IS A HUGE PLUS FOR ME.
THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR INFO...ANY MORE IDEAS PLEASE PASS THEM ALONG.

Yes, On my Sho-Bud S10U the bottom string is G#.
In the no pedals position it functions the same as string-6 G#, an octave lower.
In the pedals down position it is an A, which makes for the root of an A chord which can be used as like an E9th style A, or a big open A6th chord.
In the B6th mode that string functions nicely below the B root on string-9 (pickup notes, chord extensions, single note runs, etc).
