Winnie Winston

I just revamped the photo section of my website and was adding some photos of friends, shows etc. and found a pic of my ol' pal Winnie Winston & me playing a duet at a steel guitar convention back in '78.
Winnie built that steel that he's shown playing and even though I'm not a huge fan of Universal tuning, I have to tell you, it was a really nice guitar. I am playing a Marlen in the photo... it's not my guitar (I also played a Marlen in those days, but had just cracked a leg mount in the endplate casting so while it was being repaired, I borrowed the one shown from another pal : Chuck Truesdell who was the only other guy I knew in the area that played with a "Day" set-up).
Anyway....for any of you that remember Winnie, he was a very interesting guy left us too soon. You might enjoy the photo!
