I've had this for years after an friend gave it to me. The inlay dots are a greenish pearl. The pickup actually one magnet curved to form the exposed "blades" It got dropped (ok, I dropped it . . .), which why it has a repair on the tone control. The tuners say "Safe T Strings." The black grain is actually painted on. It sounds really great.

I think it may be a 40's Kay.

If those parts are painted with brown crinkle paint, you can get that at a hardware store. Also a nice rub with some Meguiar's Professional Swirl Remover 2.0, will remove that "haze" without damaging the finish or the real patina.

My guess is it's a Kay.
