I played one of the Carter Starters at the Namm show and was really impressed. I also got to play the regular Carter at the show and I was blowed away by the feel and tone of the guitar.
John, you and Ann keep up the great work.

Joey,
Do you think an informative announcenment about one of our member/steel players doesn't belong in this category, but a commercial vendor's sales pitch is more appropriate, here and in Feedback. I see some bias here.I will reword this to say I think you lack insight as a moderator.[This message was edited by Bob Knight on 26 August 2004 at 09:28 AM.] |

I'm with Bob on this one. If an announcement about a steel player belongs in "Steel Players", then an announcement about instruments for sale belongs in "For Sale: Instruments". |

" I think you suck as a moderator!!!" - Bob Knight |
Bob and Jim,
If you are talking about the discussion on Jim P. playing with " Big and Rich" on TV, I believe it belongs in Steel Players. It is a discussion about a Steel Player.
If it was an announcement of the show, it belongs here.
But the show had already aired.
As far as someone posting a commercial message here, that a fine point. I'd have a lot of other posts to delete if we strictly inforced this.
I'll post a note in "FEEDBACK" asking b0b about this.
Sorry you think I suck. I try my best. Today I checked the Forum 7AM before going to work, worked a full day, did some Forum work when I got home at 6, went to a band rehersal, returned home at 11PM, only to check it and respond to your comments about how I suck.
Now it's midnight and I'm still doing Forum work.
You're welcome.

OK folks, you have to realize that Joey's position here on the FORUM is not 24/7. He has a private life and works a day job. How,about you?

it's seems to me that a change of catagory is a no brainer..
A delete from the Forum...now that would be an issue.
Now Joey..you need to just give up your day gig and all family related stuff and spend ALL your time moderating..not just MOST of it..good thing you're not a Prize Fighter Referree or an NFL line judge !
Happy very early Thursday..

I'm not sure it's such a "no brainer" Tony.
The first part of Ann's post looks like an Announcement of an Event.
How is it different from someone Announcing their CD is now released, and you can buy it at.... ?

Joey -- see my remark under your thread in "Feedback and Testing."
(I know a former moderator who quit the job because his moderator salary wasn't enough to cover the cost of the Valium necessitated by the nasty-isms he received.)

I read the Forum from the bottom up. I also commented in the Feedback section, and said, "I agreed with Bob about the placing and moving of some posts, not about his opinion of you personally. Sorry if that wasn't clear." |

Bob, that's pretty rough... Grinding an axe, are we?
With all due respect, I don't know how Ann's message could be construed as anything other than an announcement (about an event). Granted, it's mareketing and promoting Carter products, but not selling instruments. It's telling what other promotional items you'll receive if you should buy an instrument at the convention.

Bobbe, you crack me up!
Seriously, other people are announcing their ISGC sales in the Classifieds. I'm going to take the bull by the horns here and move this topic to "For Sale: Instruments". |
