Had a great time pickin' country music in Lake Jackson,Tx. Tim Marlin hosts a great country pickin' at Abernathy's in the Brazos Mall Hwy 332 west in Lake Jackson. Tim Marlin, Jody Cameron, and myself on steel guitars, Bill Middleton on lead and vocals. My good friend Larry Schoppe on bass and vocals, Russ Rickman also on bass(a real fine steel player),The back up musicians were great. Jimmy Carter did some fine vocals. Darla Cameron with Jac Rickman, Jody C. and Russ did a nice little vocal show. Jody C. has acquired a Sho-Bud guitar that sounds so good. If you are in the Lake Jackson area on Mondays, go to Abernathys at the Brazos Mall. They start at 6;30. Also good food at Abernathys. Had such a good time. Jody.

Jody, It is good to see you are hanging around good guys like Tim Marlin. He used to live here in Gainesville several years ago and I would go over to his house and see his steel. I did not realize he was putting together a show but that does not surprise me. He was a manager of a store when he lived here so he knows about running things. It was 2003 at the Texas show when I saw him after a few years of not knowing where he was. Good to hear he is still out picking.
