On my SD10 Fessenden with a BL710, New jagwires, starting from the 12th fret and above I get overtones on strings 6 through 10. Thought about changing pup to see if that does the trick. I am sure this has been discussed before some where but any ideas would be appreciated thanks

| make sure you are dampening the strings behind the bar with your left hand firmly. |

One thing I have learned is the proper string gauge.If the strings aren't flat they will buzz under the bar.Get what I mean.If we got a fat one in the middle,it will hold the bar up so you have to dampen a lot behind the bar.

| If you're used to playing on strings that haven't been changed in a long time, then start playing on brand new strings, you're going to notice a lot more harmonic overtones. It's not your pickup. I'd agree that it's probably your technique... especially since you said "12th fret" which is where you have a lot of harmonics. Dampening the strings with your left hand behind the bar will keep the harmonics from ringing. |

One other trick is only cover the strings you want to play with the bar.Let your middle finger touch the open string at the end of the bar.That way if you hit the unwanted string it want ring out.Like the confounded 2nd string.lol Elbo
