I saw one site where Rick Aiello was building horseshoe pick-ups, but not any more. And if I can't get that pick-up, then what's a close guitar for that sound - a little too hot and like it's adnoids are stuffy? I've read the Sierra is close, but is that just sales?

So far as I know, the Horse Shoe is not magnetized so has no effect on the sound output, that being the case why would you want one other than for looks alone.

The only folks I know of who used faux (not magnetized) pickups were the Shot jackson and Excel frypans. Jason Lollar's horse shoe pickups
are true magnets. As far as I know right now, they are available, though maybe not listed in his site.
Best idea is to contact him.

I have a Aiello/Lollar 6 string pickup ...a 1.5er. If you are interested email me.
It has sat on my shelf for quite some time now, never been installed
Todd

Thanks for horseshoe info

I definitely have no interest in a cosmetic pickup. I didn't know Loller was still making these. Thanks everyone for sharing your insight.
