Comparison costs on the FryPan short/vs/long scale

I'm not a player but over the months there's been a lot of conversaton about Rickenbacher Fry Pans and references have been made about short scale AND long scale models. Is there a difference in the cost of these two different models or would it be expected to be about the same dollar value?

What might you be willing to pay for one of these during this time of economic turmoil?
