I have a Show Pro which plays and sounds great, using a BL 710 and or the tonealigner.
I am looking for a pickup with a more twangy sound, especially on the low strings.
What pickups (and windings if neccessary) have been used with a Sho-bud type, wood body/neck guitar to get this sound?
Thanks! |

I think the Wallace True Tone is the odds on favorite here. Great sounding, Sho Bud sounding pickup. Jerry is great to deal with too. |

Regular single coils have the clarity, but unfortunately also exhibit hum.
They are dead in the water compared to Lace Alumitone pickups. |

I have Truetones installed in my Show Pro and although there is a slight hum present, it quickly disappears while playing. The improvement in tone is well worth it in my opinion. They also help retain the classic appearance of the guitar. (IMHO, the Alumitone pickup greatly detracts from the beauty of these guitars.) |

Do yourself a favor call BMI/Beck Mucical instruments
and get the Powerboost pickup.
It is hands down the best pickup I have ever heard. You can get it wound any way you like too. _________________ Excel S-10,2 Williams 700 Universals,Jackson Blackjack Custom,, Goodrich LDR2 & Hilton Vol pedals,Monster 3500pro power conditioner, Morgan SW100 amp & Cab |
