I guess this must be the Magnatone "Sable" finish referred to in the catalog. I'd only ever seen G-70s in the "Black Pearl" MOTS finish before. This is almost like an olive drab, as if they were made for our troops in Korea. My country talking mom would call it "muckledy dung." Anyway, same 24.5" scale as the fancier G-65, same smokin' pickup, and about half the weight. Love these guitars!

That's the first one I've seen in that body shape in wood. I really like those guitars and the G-65s. Those are the best steels available in the $300-400 range, IMO.

Me too, never seen a wood one before, and wholeheartedly agree about them being a great value.
