Yea,
This is a SKH. They are the best!!! The only thing I'd change on this is the pups. Put original Emmons single coils on it. I wouldn't trade mine for any other pedal steel. And that's the truth. I've tried & owned almost every pedal steel out there, including a lacquer ZUM, a mica ZUM, a FRANKLIN, EMMONS PUSH PULLS, EMMONS LEGRANDE 11, MSA's, BMI's, SHOBUD's, DESERT ROSE, Mullen, (both RP and Pre RP), CARTER's, EXCEL, GFI, FESSENDEN's, PROMAT, and WILLIAMS. Nothing has matched the tone and sustain of my SKH EMMONS.

Pups ?
Are those Emmons Pentad pups? that's what is on my SKH and I'm tempted to put them on my LL II. My SKH with the Pentads is the Best sounding steel I've ever owned.

oops !
I just answered my own question, with Pentads it would have another selector knob where the tone toggle switch is.

Skh
If asking that question is stupid I was stupid too about three years ago as I had to ask that question. It is a term for "short key head" when it was made the body was shorter than the LeGrande that came later so the length of the key head that holds the tuners is shorter. You can see in the pics where it is split down the center near the front of the body. A year after I asked that question I traded for one and won't sell it as long as I can play, It is the best sounding steel I've ever played including several P/P steels starting with a new one in '68 and several used ones since. My Legrande II is a great steel but don't have the tone the SKH does. Also SKH is a nickname from steel plyers, not a Emmons Model designator.

Wow! This is a great quote for a really great Emmons SKH D10 Model Ritchie put up.
Dean, if you put SKH into "Search" there's alot of info that will come up on the SKH. You should know there are not that many SKH's out there. They are becoming rare. Plus very few are willing to give them up unless really necessary.
If you want to hear what an SKH sounds like, go to Youtube and put in Buddy Emmons "Night Life or I love you so much it hurts". BE is using an SKH. Albeit, we know B.E. can make a saw sound fantastic, but you'll get the idea!! TX

I had a 1984 SKH and without a doubt, it was the best sounding steel guitar I've owned, and I've owned about 10 or so. I wish so much, I had it back.
BTW- it had the pentad pickups on it also.
