I am interested in a Bigsby BY48T type of guitar...since these dont seem to be available any more, I was wondering if any one had the name of a guitar builder who could build a clone of this instrument. here is a link to these guitars built by Gretsch as re-issues I believe in 2006. Thanks for any information.

You might be able to find an original. I've seen one fore sale on Ebay not too recently, I think all they wanted was $80,000

I'm working on my own Bigsby-inspired guitar right now, and can build one for you too!

I could build a replica of that guitar as well. However, what about the pickups? Maybe some P-90 or similar?

Built guitars for George Harrison etc.

email me and I can hook you up with a couple of guys, or maybe four, who have made good replicas.
The Gretsch-made guitars you are referring to have pickups that are no where near the originals.
The easy approach would be to ask RC Allen to make one. He worked on them back in the day and has been making replicas for 50 years. And, he knows the pickups has he has original body and keyhead and pickguard templates.

Larry, I have one that is more like the BY50. If you'd like to see pictures, email me.
