Does anyone make a music stand that attaches to the center leg of a tripod guitar? I don't like the stand alone floor model music stands that can be knocked over onto guitars. _________________ Dennis

Dennis, I also got tired of tripping over the music stand. I used the lyre from an inexpensive folding music stand and made a bracket to clamp it onto my Fender 400. The bracket is basically just a block with a slot and a pair of thumbscrews to hold it in place, and a hole for a post for the lyre. You might be able to make something similar to suit your needs. I think a couple of photos will tell the story better than words.
Parts for the bracket:
Assembled bracket:
Bracket clamped to guitar:
Ready for the music:
Presented here in hopes that someone will find something interesting or useful. _________________ "For every expert, there is an equal and opposite expert." -- Arthur C. Clarke |

Thanks very much for the replies guys. Since I do already have a cheap stand I'll see if I can adapt Michael's idea and save myself some money. I'll post the results if I am eventually successful. I'll have to come up with a way to mount a bracket on the center leg of my guitar. _________________ Dennis
