Does anyone make a music stand that attaches to the center leg of a tripod guitar? I don't like the stand alone floor model music stands that can be knocked over onto guitars.

Scotty's Music has a couple of clip on music stands listed on their website, but no photos currently. Call them and see what they might have.

Is this the type that you need?

They also do a smaller one:

I have one and it works a treat.

Dennis, I also got tired of tripping over the music stand. I used the lyre from an inexpensive folding music stand and made a bracket to clamp it onto my Fender 400. The bracket is basically just a block with a slot and a pair of thumbscrews to hold it in place, and a hole for a post for the lyre. You might be able to make something similar to suit your needs. I think a couple of photos will tell the story better than words.

Parts for the bracket:

Assembled bracket:

Bracket clamped to guitar:

Ready for the music:

Presented here in hopes that someone will find something interesting or useful.

Thanks very much for the replies guys. Since I do already have a cheap stand I'll see if I can adapt Michael's idea and save myself some money. I'll post the results if I am eventually successful. I'll have to come up with a way to mount a bracket on the center leg of my guitar.
