I should say that if you are a steel player who thinks that the steel world ended in 1967, you might not like the Campbell Brothers. But if you are open minded, they will blow your mind.

Wow...what a great show! High energy blues, gospel and funk fronted by pedal steel, LAPSTEEL and 6 string...and female vocalist Denise Brown.
Chuck Campbell played his Excel 12 U12, mostly through Pandora effects and wah -wah pedal and a Fender Twin.
Brother Darick played his lapsteel with a sweet bluesey, slightly overdriven sound and other brother Phil played his electric both straight and through midi organ and piano sounds!
The lapsteel and pedal steel often played orchestrated parts together, almost like a horn section on the uptempo stuff. It was amazing how they worked together to pull off a tight, uncluttered sound.
Nice people, inspiring music and lots of bluesey/rock steel!
