| I was fortunate to spend two days with Reece Anderson before the Dallas steel show for his "Fast Track" Non-Pedal Steel Camp and it was an amazing experience. Reece is an enthusiastic and patient teacher. He has organized an enormous amount of information and delivers it in a way that you can understand and retain it. Lessons went for 8 hours each day, and he would even keep going after supper if you had more questions for him, and of course, he told great stories about playing with Bob Wills, etc. His wife, Teresa, kept everyone fed and taken care of, and was totally fun and charming. I highly recommend this camp! |

| This sounds great! Please tell us more. Pedals and levers have spoiled me. I could use an 8 hour a day camp type learning experience. Non-pedal steel guitar has been on my mind a lot lately, but with so many tunings and scale lengths, I'm feeling a little lost. Does Reese do this year-round or just at certain steel shows? |

What tunings did he use for his lessons? and was it 8 or 10 string stuff?

Basically the 6th tuning. Reece was using the C6 tuning on his 12-string, but I use A6 on my 8-string, Henry was in C6 on his 8-string and Pat was in C6 on his 10-string. It didn't matter. Reece presented a method of speed-reading the neck in any key and putting chords together in a logical way. He also imparts secrets and tips that he's gathered over his 50 years of playing steel, not to mention great stories. If you are stuck, Reece can zero in on whatever's holding you back. He's super patient and unflappable, and tailors the lessons to the group. |

I want to go to one of the camps so bad now but on the web site no beginner camp is showing for non pedal steel. I hope one gets scheduled.
